Old Town Tustin is one of Orange County's most authentic historic districts — with a story that goes back over 150 years.
Tustin was founded in 1868 by Columbus Tustin, who platted the town and named it after himself. The historic Main Street that runs through Old Town today has been the heart of the community ever since — home to merchants, farmers, and families who built something lasting. Tustin was officially incorporated in 1927.
Perhaps the most iconic landmark in Tustin's history: the massive WWII-era blimp hangars, built in 1942 to house Navy blimps patrolling the Pacific coast. At over 1,000 feet long and 17 stories tall, they're among the largest wooden structures ever built — and are listed as a National Historic Landmark. You can see them from miles away.
Old Town Tustin's agricultural roots — citrus, walnuts, and sugar beets — shaped the landscape for generations. The Tiller Days Parade, held each fall, is a direct tribute to that heritage, celebrating the community's farming traditions with bands, floats, and local spirit.
